in 2000 — it marks the azimuth of the first U.S. sunrise

of that year. The easternmost point of the United States,

named for former Secretary of the Interior Stuart Udall,

this tranquil point has beautiful sea vistas.

The site of "firsts", it was where national television

showed the sun first rising on American soil for the

anniversary of Bicentennial.
